Riverside Industries Staff enjoy working side-by-side with student interns, retirees and other individuals in every aspect of running a non-profit, human service organization.
This Summer you can volunteer for Riverside on our farm in Southampton, or enjoy in our greenhouse at One Cottage Street in Easthampton. You can volunteer in marketing, communications, or working directly with Riverside participants. Join us and experience, learn and find meaning and joy! Volunteer Opportunities:
Administrative Support Volunteer: Assist in administrative tasks as needed. There are many duties which comprise the full range of staff responsibilities embodied in the Administrative Support position. Each of these duties is considered essential for the performance of the job and include photocopying, shredding, mailings, etc. More details: Administrative Assistant
Life Enrichment Volunteer: Get involved with programs, activities and community outings, designed to maximize the independence, skills, and self-esteem of individuals living with developmental disabilities. The life enrichment positions is great for college students, majoring in Human Services, Psychology, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Human Development. More details: Riverside Life Enrichment
Functional Academics Instructors: Functional Academics are great for retired teachers or current teachers on summer break. Functional academics are defined as academic areas that will be used by the participant for the rest of their life. For example: Reading (read signs, read a recipe). Math (money, grocery shopping, making change, budget). Health (reading nutrition labels, choosing healthy foods, plan healthy meals). These skills encourage as much independence as possible for our participants in ordinance with our mission to empower people with disabilities to live rich and full lives. Riverside Farm & Greenhouse: Beautiful farms in Southampton offer Riverside participants the satisfying experience of seeing first-hand how food goes from seed to table, while gaining valuable skills. Team up for a day in the sun with Staff and participants for pruning, weeding, harvesting, watering, and planting. The greenhouse is great for all ages including high school and retirees. Riverside Arts Exchange: The Riverside Arts Exchange program allows artists in the community to work in tandem with Riverside participants that are aspiring artists.
