| Riverside programs get accreditation |
|
Riverside Industries has again received a three-year accreditation for its personal and social community programs. It marks the seventh straight year the company has received such honors. Riverside, located at One Cottage Street, was awarded accreditation by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) for its Day Habilitation and Elder Services programs. The commission conducted an on-site survey of Riverside in October and awarded its accreditation last month, according to Ronald Bittel, Riverside's president. Riverside's Day Habilitation program serves adults with developmental disabilities, helping them to live and work as independently as possible. The Elder Services program is similar, but serves developmentally disabled people over 55. Bittel said the three-year accreditation is the highest awarded by the commission and will be valid through the year 2001. |
