Our Speech/Language Pathologists (Slps) evaluate and treat disorders of communication.

This may include disorders of speech, language, cognition and swallowing. Our therapy programs are designed to maximize an individual's ability to understand and communicate with family members, caregivers, employers and staff.

Therapists develop a treatment program based upon an initial evaluation in cooperation with the client and appropriate personnel.

Our Therapists provide treatment in the following areas:

Evaluation
  • Review relevant records
  • Observe client in multiple settings
  • Collaborate with IEP and ISP teams
  • Provide diagnostic therapy and trials

Product Selection and Maintenance

  • Provide assistance with selecting technology
  • Maintain communications systems
  • Fabricate and update systems
  • Provide computer adaptations
  • Repair consultation

Support and Training

  • Introduce Augmentative Communications and other Assistive technologies
  • Program devices

Riverside Rehabilitation specializes in both voice output and low-tech augmentative communication systems and assistive technology.

The goal is to assist people in communicating in ways they can be understood and improve the quality of life and ease of functioning in school, work or home.
